About Heather

Heather draws on over ten years of teaching experience, leading classes that are dynamic, creative journeys that evolve with the changing needs of life. Rooted with strong functional anatomy, she infuses her classes with the power of the breath and a deep awareness of the physical body, creating a deeply personal moving meditation for her students. Heather is a Yoga Alliance certified teacher through the World Renowned Nosara Yoga Institute in Costa Rica. As an accredited Interdisciplinary Yoga Instructor™ she draws her teaching style from roots in Ashtanga, Iyengar and Kripalu foundations. She is also a certified Pranassage® Practitioner. Professional development and ongoing training include Advanced Training at the Nosara Yoga Institute, Prana Vinyasa and Flow Teacher Training with Shiva Rea and Ashtanga Teacher Training with Manju Jois. As an ERYT Instructor through the Yoga Alliance, Heather has over 1000 teaching hours and 500 instructional hours. She conducts teacher training and workshops as a Yoga Educator. In addition, Heather has been an innovator in bringing yoga into schools and educational settings. As a Yoga Ed™ trained instructor, she conducts professional development programs for teachers and educators and has implemented several school wide yoga and wellness programs. She was awarded a grant to implement and review school yoga programs. Heather is a founding partner of Sage Yoga & Wellness in Boise, Idaho, a vibrant, thriving studio at the heart of the yoga community. She also opened and taught at Urban Yoga Baku, while living and practicing in Azerbaijan. Heather is honored to have been deeply influenced by her teachers Don & Amba Stapleton and the continual inspiration she find in her students, and fellow teachers.
